Let me set the scene… I was at the beautiful Di Sini Di Sana restaurant in Ubud, Bali, attending an event organised by the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival. Appropriately, Di Sini Di Sana translates as Here and There… What better place to meet a man who has travelled not just here and there but also everywhere, and to hear him in conversation with photographer, storyteller and Buddhist teacher Rio Helmi. I asked a question during the Q&A, then approached Pico after his conversation with Rio was over, and his warmth, kindness and generosity gave me the confidence to ask him whether he might consider being a guest on Oblivious Witness…
And so here we are. Today I’m thrilled to share a conversation with Pico Iyer - consummate Oblivious Witness guest - which is proof to me that the world is still full of magic, and that despite the differences in the details of our stories, we’re all global citizens of one beautiful and intricately interconnected world.
And I’d love to hear your stories too
If anything in this episode inspires you to see the world a little differently or to expand your own horizons in any way, I’d love to hear from you.
Please drop a note in the comments or send me a message about a story you’d like to share. Every heart-squeeze and comment makes it more likely that someone else might happen upon a conversation that might just widen their world.
