Welcome to Season Three of the Oblivious Witness podcast!
I was so thrilled to be invited into the Singaraja Literary Festival family to have this conversation with the incredible Sonia Kadek Piscayanti.
Sonia and I caught up in the library of the Mahima Community in Singaraja, on the far north coast of the beautiful Indonesian island of Bali. I’m so used to speaking with people who, for whatever reason, have left their home nation behind, and now have a complicated relationship with the country that they originally called home. So it was refreshing to speak with someone who feels deeply rooted in the town that she was born in, and sees her many travels abroad as a way of reconnecting to her island home.
If you enjoy this conversation, please remember to subscribe to Oblivious Witness for other inspiring chats with travellers, and to receive all the episodes of Season Three directly into your inbox.
